Denver by Night

A Nice Time at Night

Players – Ken, Eric, Aiden, Braeden, Ethan, Brian and David (GM)

Since it has been a couple of months – we take some time to tweak the characters we are playing. We review the episodes since the beginning and start from the last session.

The cell phone rings (Murph), Mr. Crowley calls to bring us to “the Gothic” in an hour to discuss our status. We round out the area and gather our things. We load up and head to the bar, getting our stuff together.

We arrive at the “Gothic” in two cars ( Durango – Freya; Dart – Len). We secure our gear and then go into the bar to the second floor and secure a small private table. Freya orders a round of drinks and ensures the folks in the table leave to give us some peace. Freya spends two benjamins to make sure they have space and drinks.

As we get seated, Freya orders a martini and checks the area around the table to see what is going on around us. As we look over, we notice Stanislava sitting by herself; Angus the Unruled is also in the area; there are also two other vampires off of the floor to the side. The doormats are by the door protecting the area to the left.

The waitress comes by to take our order, though only Freya orders a drink. Murph and Eli head to the door and identify themselves as meeting Mr. Crowley. They are led to the back room, an extension of the bar (with supposed vamps around). Murph and Eli sit down and talk with the “Sheriff” and get a couple glasses of the “House” red.

Mr. Crowley wants Murph to report not only to Miranda, but to him as well so that he can inform “Emerson”. Murph talks with the Sheriff and discusses the previous days activities. As far as Murph is able to tell, he is really discussing things with the Sheriff, to make sure we are not disclosing information.

Murph and Eli slam their drinks and then return to the group.

In the meantime, Freya gives her fruit to Len and then walks over Stanislava. Freya talks with Stanislava, playing cards and just talking about the local area. Freya notices while she is playing cards, Stanislava is using sleight of hand to change the cards to her favor, but there is a pattern.

When Murph and Eli return to the table, they talk with Len, Kai, and Leo. Freya joins them and we discuss what our next move will be. After lengthly discussion, we decide to go talk with Ms. Amisa. We head to her place and disembark close to her place. It is a more industrial complex area, a bit more run down. Leo and Murph head to warehouse to scout it out. They notice 5 cars in the parking lot – Dre, Amisa, and four/five others are sitting together talking. There are only a few folks hanging around – but they do not seem to be doing anything specific.

Leo heads back to the car – lets the group know that Dre is here at the location. Leo heads to the back of the warehouse to find there are “blue” barrels that have a powder in them, in which the folks in the warehouse are working to put them into smaller containers (baggies and such). Leo heads close to the window and watches the area. Len comes close to the door and uses Auspex to hear through the door. Discussions include Miranda and her children. “Aims = Serpent of the light” – in which Princes really do not like them in their cities due to the negative. Dre is talking to Amisa on all of Miranda’s children, locations, haven’s, and other general information.

Amisa’s phone rings – and once complete with the phone call – orders one of her boys to walk the perimeter. Those folks around the building hid a bit, to ensure they are not detected. The trooper takes a walk around, but does not find anyone.

As time continues, it gets to the point where we need to go to ground – we decide to leave. Murph, since he can stay in the ground, he stays to listen to the conversations. After most of us have left the area, Amisa receives another phone call and asks for the location of the other two…. where he is sure they can find Kai, and everyone is aware of who is the hunter and the hunted.

The main extent of the mission is to find us and so we are all on our guard. We each stay in a different area so it is going to be more difficult.

Upon the waking of Murph and Freya, they receive calls notifying them of alarms going off in their houses. The alarm went off in their respective houses shortly after sunset. They both send assistance to their houses. We all feed and make our ways to the bar where we meet.

Freya and Eli arrive first to find a dozen folks standing around Leo’s car which was left at the bar. One after another we all show up and see the bad guys. Murph flies in as a bat and notices two additional men on buildings across the way from Leo’s car – both have sniper rifles. We quickly plan the counter-ambush: Murph and Leo will take out the snipers while Freya distracts the dozen. A man pops out in front of Freya and exclaims: “Finally” and draws a knife. “You’ve pissed off Amisa.”

Murph draws his claws (heh that rhymed… oops sorry I’m not Malkavian) and rips the human sniper in two. Murph stabs the other human sniper in the heart and kills it. Freya commands the knife-wielding man to sleep. He yawns and slumps, but manages to ignore the command. His skin becomes that of a snake as he successfully attacks Freya. Len swings his car into the parking lane side ways. He jumps out the door and shoots a human thug. It dies. Five thugs and a vampire train their submachine guns on Len and open fire. Len manages to evade the barrage, but his car is peppered with holes. Eli draws a knife and attacks the vampire going against Freya with aggravated damage dealing a devastating blow. Kai runs up to the commotion, ripping a street light out of the ground as he comes. He swings and hits sending two cultist flying. Then Kai moving with blinding speed draws his short sword and attacks the vampire going against Freya. The vampire shrugs off the hit. Then Kai accepts the failed attempt and turns on the last human thug against Freya. The attack slices him in half. A vampire standing by Leo’s car turns to Kai and upchucks the contents of his stomach in a projectile vomit. Kai dodges both his attack and his buddy vampire’s. Three of the original baddies fighting Len opened fire again hitting him this time. Eli is almost snake charmed but breaks the attack. Leo takes the rifle from the dead human and takes out two thugs on the ground. Murph takes out an additional two from the opposite side. Kai slashes through both of the remaining human thugs then turns on the vampires. He slices the Assamite vampire standing by the car. The Assamite falls to the ground bleeding from many slices in his body. Freya commands the Gangrel to sleep. He lowers himself to the ground to sleep. Eli pounces on the bleeding Assamite and begins to diablerize. Len runs at the Serpent attacking Freya. Yells: “You turned my car to cheese!” but misses with his dagger. Then the battle ends

We toss the sleeping Gangrel and the battered Serpent into Freya’s car to drive to her house. Freya talks to the police and sends them away as nothing was taken. We bring our captives in and interrogate. The gangrel reveals Chester Dubois, a Nosferatu, sent the ambush. He does not know who Amisa is but he has heard of her. Chester called for them from out of Denver. They were sent to kill our group. Chester brought them in to protect something – a Nosferatu – the Beast. It can be found at Four Mile Historic Park. There are three more vampires in his group and sixteen blood guard. They don’t know much about the Beast. Every other night, they are told to stay away from Four Mile Historic Park so it may hunt. He doesn’t know why the Beast is here now. Kai diablerizes the Gangrel once we finish with him.

Len gets inside the Serpent’s head and admires the empty spaces. He then asks a bunch of questions. Most of his responses are similar. He does detail that Chester knows the location of three of our havens.

Thus the night ends.

In the Living room...

It is 0500hrs local – we just finished taking out some bad guys. Amisa was following us. She disappeared once we took out all of her henchmen. All of our folks head to their havens and head to bed. Sleep, glorious sleep.

As the sun heads down and we wake, once we eat, we head to the bar to meet up. As we discuss what has happened previously, we decide to go to Delila Easton’s house to investigate her murder. She lives at 520 S. Poplar Way, Denver 80224. We pile into a couple of cars and head to her house.

The haven is a large house, very dark and well shaped lawns. The walls and gates are in place. No guards, but there are cameras and such/basic security standards. We deploy a drone to overlook the area. Murph turns into mist form and flows over the fence. The drone and Murph discover that the door and frame for the front door is broken apart. Freya sends the drone to overwatch. Leo and Murph head inside to investigate. Len and Eli hangs with Freya, while Kai heads to the top of the house.

As Leo and Murph enter the house, they notice that there is pervasive blood splatter and the floor joists are buckled due to excessive weight. A quick check, shows the house is empty, the bodies have already been removed. Freya placed the drone on hover with movement/IR indicators, tied to mobile. Freya and the other folks move toward the house.

Len and Murph attempt to focus and use spiritual acumen to find out the full story about what occurred. Freya goes through documenting the area and taking pictures and basic CSI type stuff. Len uses SPIRIT TOUCH and tries to find out what the PSYCHIC Impression on what occurred. Len senses that “Delilah” and approximately 10 other folks were killed/diablerized. There was another sense of someone there outside of the grouping. His EYE of CHAOS reveals fear and a strong non-natural situation.

Kai and Murph head upstairs to check things out. The rest of the house seems like it is still in ok shape. Freya and Leo, look at everything around the entryway. Murph is called back and with Freya’s help, they take images and upload them to the computer, scanning the internet, there are some hits from Boston and Chicago, circa 1500, though nothing currently.

The rest of the house is pretty straight forward – no main areas of interest. Murph continues following the footprints, with Kai and Eli behind him. Murph transitions into wolf form so that he can gain a better impression of the house. Leo and Freya work on the Security system and gain the name/company of the security system (Front Range Security – based out of Firestone, CO).

Murph is able to track the scent toward George Washington High School. The track disappears and Murph loses the scent. Murph, Kai, and Eli return to the house. Leo, Freya, and Len finish up at the house and bring the equipment back to the Durango. Len takes his car and picks up Murph, Eli, and Kai, while Leo and Freya follow to the next location.

1300 S Steele Street, Denver, 80210 – The Arch Diocese Haven, Gideon Fontaine’s place. The location has the lights on and that there appears to be people within the property. Freya parks and sends up the drone. Murph checks the doors and finds that they are locked. Someone watches from a pulled back curtain in the welcome center. A man of the cloth opens the door for Murph and a concealed Leo. They inquire about Gideon and are told to follow the priest. A man named Sir Walter Nash meets with them and they talk about Gideon. Sir Nash discloses the story: the priests heard a inhuman howl and saw a quick flash then Gideon was destroyed, turned to ash. Murph in animal form found big tracks heading to and from George Washington high school in the north. Murph lets drop that another incident occurred. Sir Walter Nash who had not heard attempts to intimidate Murph for information. Frustrated at the lack of information gained Sir Nash tells us to leave his grounds.

We pile into cars and drive to George Washington high school where Murph changes to wolf form and sniffs around. At this point the entire group hears howling further north. We all rush to the cars to go north. As we drive wolfy Murphy sniffs the air, Freya’s drone scans and Len walks/flies around in astral form. The drone picks up still images of the Beast. We determine he is heading for a house. Len spirit walks into the house and sees the Beast break in the door to find a humanoid on his back in the entry way. Len uses Eyes of Chaos on the Beast and discovers the Beast is old, vampiric and HUNGRY! Murph switches out of vampire form and shoots the Beast as he runs up to the house. The Beast is drawn out onto the front lawn to face Murph. Leo drops cloak of shadows and hamstrings the Beast with his knife. Staring into The Beast’s eyes, Murph attempts to quell the beast with assistance from Len using passion to nullify the Beast’s emotions. Kai skirts around the combat to get inside the house. The Beast becomes extremely confused, looking for a target, when one cannot be found it dashes south using celerity. Len tries to follow the Beast astrally but loses the Beast.

The vampire in the house is Ranjan Rishi who was almost entirely drained of blood and seems out of it as if drugged. We presence someone to come feed the vampire as Leo sends an update to Miranda’s phone boy. Ranjan comes around extremely disoriented. He spins his short tale. The last thing he remembers was going out to hunt. He says that he owes us much before heading out in several SUV’s.

Thus the session ends.

Following the sneaky Dre
Dr. Dre

After a bending in space and time our party grew by two and lost one!
DLash: GM
DBay: John – Losombra
Eric: Sebastian “Murph” Murphy – Gangrel
Ethan: Ammon Kadir Osiris – Assimite
Brian: Freya – Ventrue
Braeden: Kagamine Len – Malkavian

Freya whips out her fancy smancy flying robot and scopes out the perimeter. John makes his swirly eyes mesmerize the pothead on the porch. We compare the strength of our fists while waiting for zombie eyed pothead to return. Yes the notes are being taken. ANd eggs remain closed… Which reminds me of a Riddle… Dre – NPC was angrily arguing on the phone inside then Dre leaves the house jumps in his car and drives away. We all pile in (and oN) Freya’s car, a 57 chevy, to follow Dre. There was almost an incident with George following us but he remembered that he is forgetful.
Dre drives on belliview east near Yaya’s. We park nearby and sneaky sneaks sneak over to watch. Dre waits for us to follow and walks over to the side of the hotel and climbs up. Eli, John and I, Len climb up after to see Dre watching the Yaya’s across the way. Murph calls in a Hooter and tells it to watch. Freya walks into the lobby and talks to the attendant, takes a nibble. Ooma (sorry Uma not Ooma) Hatch hangs out at Yaya’s and sometimes walks over to the hotel. I check out Dre lady-man, he is pale Dark blue (suspicious vampire) no black veins…
Dre receives a text of unknown origin and heads for the stairs. I follow him down with John lagging behind while Eli rejoins Freya and Murph to visit the Yaya’s. Freya flirts with the door guards and gets inside. Uma walks in, Freya and Murph admire her hoohaas. Two-face muscle looks directly at sneaky Eli. Freya Dawn and Murph talk with Uma about jobs and watching and doing things. Dre grabs his car and leaves with John and Len attempting to steal a car and follow. The car already being uncovered of snow. Len picks the lock but then five vamps drop obfuscate and kick out the door knocking Len down. Combat ensues with three SUVs worth of baddies. Notable move: Old Grandma Freya bowls into two oblivious human baddies (who got taken out) while the rest step aside and ask what Grandma is doing. Freya awes the Lady Amisa mid combat (like a wombat). Questions are asked: Follower of Set, sent to follow us by her sire Kemintiri, haven located on 860 south Colorado boulevard.

Then more warping of space and time. Time pauses and space remains in place.

Oh yeah that riddle:
In a marble hall white as milk,
lined with skin as soft as silk.
Within a fountain crystal-clear,
a golden apple doth appear.
No doors there are to this stronghold,
yet thieves break in to steal its gold.

First Episode "Via Eric Wong"

I wake in my apartment, envelope had been slid under the door.
“Miranda Sanova requests your presence in the Capital Building tonight.” Miranda Sanova is a Bruja Elder. Perhaps my reputation as an investigator is in play here?

I text our group, and we decide to meet at the usual spot to discuss this development. A bar, of course.

We decide to answer the summons and head for the capitol building. In walking around the Capitol Building, we notice we are being watched, followed. ____ uses that aura shit to determine that these were vampire hunters (human, hateful. So vamp hunters, of course).
I called an Owl to keep watch, and let me know if they move closer.

After watching the building for a while, we decide to walk around back. At one of the doors were two burly guards. Simply showing them the invite did absolutely nothing. They denied us entrance, saying we could have forged it. Perhaps we need to gain entrance to prove some minimal standard of worthiness?

So, others tried the mental approach and proceeded to Awe or Presence or whatever you mind-fuck types do. In we went. Hmmm, maybe that stuff isn’t so stupid after all. Nah, claws are always better.

After a long, long wait, we meet Miranda Sanova…. timeliness isn’t her strong point.
She notes that significant vamps were killed recently by being drained of blood, presumably diablerized, in the same area near Tamarac Square.
One was the son of the Prince, Gideon Fontaine. That can’t be good.
The other was Delilah Easton, who’s position I can’t remember.
Miranda is also concerned about her child, Drey.
Drey has a haven near Fitzsimons. She gives us some general info to find it. Sounds like she doesn’t even know exactly where he hangs out any more.

We depart and drive in two cars to the Fitszimons area via I-225.
We are attacked on I-225 by the vamp hunters. I knew we should have gutted those slugs back at the Capitol.

They attempt to drive us off the road. We take evasive manuevers… ah shit, no we don’t. We just slam on the brakes. What the fuck. Big 11 car pileup. Now for some fun.
(cool moment, I leaped out of the car onto one of the bad guys’ cars, popping my claws out, and ripped the entire windshield off with an Exceptional Success) Then killed both guys in the front seat. Easy pickens.

My buddies mop up the rest, including one tough guy who lasts more than one hit. Don’t feel nothin’ for him, though. He’s still a scumbag. And dead.
Cops are on the way, better bug out.

After searching around the Fitzsimons area, we find that a lot of docs are purchasing street drugs. Go figure. And I trusted those doctor types once up on a time. Oh well. We ask a dealer about Drey and he says yes Drey sells drugs around here. Even gave us an address, 1514 Peoria. We walk to the address and ditch the cars. Cops in the area and not going away.

I think it’s about midnight by now.

At the address we find 3 guys on the porch smoking, while waiting for Drey to return. We make nicey nicey with them and wait for Drey to come back. When he does, he has a bad attitude. No shit, here are a bunch of strangers on his lawn. I’d be pissy with me too. We tell him why we are there, and that Miranda summoned him with no response. Douchebag claims he was never summoned.

I text Michael (Miranda’s assistnat) with the info. We walk away but send Ken and Ethan back while Obfuscated to watch the house. Text comes back a while later, “Bullshit. Watch him.”. I reply, “Watching.”

We are watching. We are Watchers.

End of Session.
